It’s possible to get lost in a forest, but with these steps, we’ll ensure you stay aware of this design!
How to Draw A Cartoon Forest
Step 1
If you look at the last pictures of this guide on drawing a cartoon forest, this detailed picture may be very difficult to draw.
However, we want to show you that it can be easier if you know what to do. We will also break it down into smaller steps to make it much easier.
First, we start with the left side of the forest. You can use jagged lines for the tree canopy, and then we’ll use curved lines for the tree trunks.
That’s all for this first step, and then we can move on to Draw A Cartoon Forest!
Step 2
In this second step, we will add a bigger tree to your cartoon forest drawing!
This tree will also have some jagged lines for the leafy canopy, but this section will have more volume than the previous leafy section.
So we use a combination of slightly curved and mostly straight lines for the trunk of this tree.
The trunk will be taller and thicker than the previous ones, and there will be a small open space at the bottom right to Draw A Cartoon Forest.
Step 3
In this third step of the guide, we can now breathe a little more life into this forest.
First, you will see why we left this space at the base of the previous tree, as a bush will fill the space.
This bush is drawn with an irregular outline, similar to leafy treetops.
Next, we will add more trees, and the main tree in this step will be another big tree drawn with curved and straight lines to Draw A Cartoon Forest.
Step 4
The key to drawing a cartoon forest guide is to build it up step by step, and we will add another section in this fourth step.
First, add another bush at the base of the previous tree. Next, we’ll add more trees to the background using similar methods to those we drew earlier.
That’s all for this effort, and then we can move on!
Step 5
This fifth part of your comic woods drawing will shake something up a bit! We’re going to add another big tree, but this one will look different than the previous ones.
The next tree will look like a majestic pine tree, and it should be fun to draw! The trunk of this particular tree will be thin and slightly curved.
It will then have more spiky lines towards the crown of the tree, and those spiky lines will help make it appear like it has a lot of needles making up the crown.
So we’re ready for the final details of this drawing in the next step of the guide to Draw A Cartoon Forest!
Step 6
Let’s finish this composition with some finishing touches in this guide step! To do this, we’ll add more trees on the right side of the design and background.

Then you can add some irregular and curved line detail to the various bushes to give them more texture and volume to Draw A Cartoon Forest.
Please add some details that you might also like for this design. You could add some small animals, extra trees, or sky details for some ideas.
Step 7
This is the last step of this guide on drawing a cartoon forest, and we will make this wonderful drawing even more beautiful with some colors!

In our reference image, we show you how to colorize this image Draw A Cartoon Forest.
We used bright but colorful shades of green for the leaves and bushes and then some nice shades of brown for the tree trunks.
You can use similar colors, but you can also choose unique ones! It can also be fun to try new art mediums while coloring.
We recommend using watercolor paint as this softer medium is great for natural environments.
