With these tricks in your arsenal, learning how to draw a room’s perspective can be much easier than you think.
How to Draw A Room Perspective
Step 1
Before we start this guide on drawing a room’s perspective, a few drawing tools would make this process that much easier.
The main tool you will want to have on hand is a ruler, as this depiction involves creating many straight lines and measurements.
If you usually draw with a pen, you should also have a pencil handy, as this will come in handy when you need to draw elements where mistakes could be a problem.
If you have everything you need, we can start with the first step! For now, let’s draw some simple straight lines.
In this first part, you should copy the lines exactly as they appear in our reference image, and this is one part you should start with a pencil.
You are ready for the second part of the tutorial when you have drawn the lines as they appear in our example.
Step 2
The lines you drew in the previous part of this space perspective drawing will create the illusion of depth for the image.
We will draw everything along these lines to add to the illusion.
With your ruler, you can draw a modern-looking rectangular sofa on the left side of the picture. You can then draw a small rectangular locker on the right side of the image.
With this furniture, you are then ready for the third step of the instructions.
Step 3
Continuing this guide to drawing the perspective of a room, we’ll add more furniture along with some details for the furniture already in place.
First, draw a flat, long rectangle for a coffee table in the center of the image. This will then have square legs on it. There will be another smaller footrest above it.
Next, draw some small elegant cushions and small details from the previous step on the sofa. Finally, for this step, we’ll draw a window on the right side of the image.
This has a rectangular shape and a thinner rectangular part on top. With these elements drawn, we can add more in the fourth step of the guide!

Step 4
Now let’s add more details to the elements you’ve drawn so far in this part of the perspective drawing of your room.
Using your ruler, we’ll draw a grid design on the rectangular area on the left side of the space and draw another grid on the window.
Even for details like this, angle it to give the room the illusion of depth.
After these parts are drawn, we will add some final details and elements in the next step of the guide.
Step 5
In this fifth step of our guide to drawing the perspective of a room, you’ll add some final details and elements to the image.
First, draw some wavy lines for an elegant section on the left side of the room. Next, draw a series of squares and rectangles on the room’s opposite wall.
Finally, we’ll add some straight lines on the roof, and you can finish it by adding some small circles for some lights embedded there.
When all these details are completed, you can add some details and elements of your own! This is your chance to bring out your inner interior designer.
Step 6
For this perspective room design, we have created a rather modern and elegant design, which is also reflected in the choice of colors in our example image.
We’ve kept the colors a bit cooler and more muted in our reference image, and while you could opt for a similar look, feel free to express your color creativity with any other shade you love!
